Mr. Andrew Sheets has been named Dean of Middle School, beginning July 1, 2010. Mr. Sheets emerged from an outstanding field of highly qualified candidates from a nationwide search. His credentials and experience are excellent; his love and leadership for middle school students and their families is exceptional.

Andy Sheets brings to FRA a broad range of experience in independent school leadership. Empowered by a Master’s Degree in Education, Mr. Sheets has successfully executed administrative roles, including head of school, in which his primary responsibilities have included oversight of student life, student discipline, curriculum development and mapping, extracurricular programming, and faculty mentoring and evaluation. As Dean of Students at the Canterbury School in Florida, he taught courses in English and public speaking in addition to his administrative duties.

Mr. Sheets also possesses valuable experience in technology, differentiated learning, best teaching practices, admissions, and direction of spiritual life, having committed three years of his dedicated career to youth ministry. In addition, he has led academically as a department chair and taught classes at the middle school level. Mr. Sheets comes to us from Currey Ingram Academy in Brentwood where he currently serves as the Assistant Division Head of the Upper School.

Mr. Sheet’s keen intellect, skill set, experience, and genuine love for students make him the ideal match for this important position. He and his wife, Tabitha, have four children, Joshua, Brogan, Zachary, and Abigail. We look forward to Mr. Sheet’s leadership and guidance for FRA’s Middle School.
