Spiritual Life at FRA …

"To develop students of integrity with Christian values to sustain and lead them in lives that will make a difference."

Words come alive with action … and spiritual life at FRA is active and ongoing, weaving itself into the fabric of each student’s life in our academy. The FRA community is an inclusive Christian environment, welcoming all faiths.Proudly and boldly, we also proclaim the love of Jesus to our students every day and seek to instill Christian values into the lives of every student on our campus. Our students know “who” they are and “Whose” they are. As persons of integrity, clothed with Christian values, they do make a difference … in their homes, in their workplaces, and in their world.

The Christian message proclaimed on our campus is an ecumenical one. It is not denominational, nor is it doctrinal. Those theologies come from home and church.

FRA’s Christian message is demonstrated in six distinctive ways:

  1. Daily Devotional and Prayer
  2. Spiritual Emphasis Week
  3. Curricular Offerings
  4. Service Learning
  5. Mission Trips and Special Events
  6. Leadership FRA: Inspiring Leaders for Life

Living a Spiritual Life

Most importantly, we attempt to “live out” our Christian values in all areas of student life. The adage, “I’d rather see a sermon than hear one any day” is exemplified on our campus.Faculty and staff are called on to be role models for our students. They “walk the walk” and, in doing so, give our students the most powerful message of all — you are a child of God, and we are all blessed. It is up to us to go out and be a blessing to others. Examples abound of faculty and staff members leading Bible studies, sharing with students, and leading by example.

Our students are fine scholars, ready for the rigors of university life … but, even more so, they are great people — persons of integrity, armed with Christian values who are ready to lead a life that will make a difference.
