Band
Instrumental music opportunities are available to all students in grades 5-12. The school sponsors 5th and 6th grade beginning bands, and a 7th and 8th Grade Jazz Ensemble. The FRA Jazz Ensemble and FRA Jazz Combo rehearse during the school day.

Students in grades 9-12 may also participate in the extracurricular FRA Pep Band which performs at all home football games. Students often put together small ensembles on their own to explore other styles of music performance, often performing at school functions such as Spiritual Emphasis Week or other campus events.

Jazz Ensemble

This ensemble provides musicians an opportunity to study and perform jazz and popular music. Instruction is provided in tone production, rhythm, style, concept, listening skills, music history, and improvisation. By studying a variety of musical styles, students acquire a deeper understanding and appreciation for the aesthetic qualities of music.

Members of the band program in Grades 7 through 12, participate in the Middle Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association's Mid-State and All-State bands and orchestras, Solo and Ensemble festivals, and various performances in the community. The annual FRA Jazz Café in the spring is the highlight of the year when special guest musicians perform with the jazz ensemble.

In March, 2007, the Jazz Ensemble joined the Vocal Ensemble at Festival Disney.
