Franklin Road Academy's Choral/Vocal Music Department is a vibrant showcase of talented musicians. Approximately 140-150 students in grades 5-12 are involved in the program. FRA students also successfully compete individually in regional and state events. Course offerings include 5^th Grade Chorus, 6^th Grade Chorus, 7^th-8^th Grade Vocal Music, and Upper School Concert Choir and Vocal Ensemble.

Upper School choirs have performed on Carnival Cruise Lines and Disney's Magic Music Days. In 2007 they performed at Festival Disney. In Spring 2006 they opened for Alan Jackson at the Ryman Auditorium. The choirs and ensembles often perform for school athletic events and assemblies. They also are frequently invited to perform in the greater Nashville area for various events such as local conventions, ground breakings, holiday events, open houses, and concert venues in the airport and malls.

Many students are involved in the spring musical, ~evening with the arts~, and Cocoa and Carols in addition to the annual Christmas and spring choral concerts. Opportunities for individual and group performances abound in the Fine Arts Department and students' experiences are greatly enhanced by having a beautiful state-of-the-art theatre and performing arts facility on campus.

The students involved in FRA's Choral Music Department reflect the entire student body. Many of FRA's top academic students, athletes, student government leaders and others have a common bond in exploring and enjoying vocal music. Several of our graduates are currently studying and performing music in college. There is a place for everyone!

• US Vocal Ensemble ACDA State Adjudication Spring 2008
  After earning Superiors in both Sight-Reading and Performance at the Middle Tennessee Vocal Association regional adjudication in February, Vocal Ensemble members posted a very impressive 11.04 out of 12 Superior Rating at the March ACDA State Adjudication in Murfreesboro. Congratulations, FRA!

• US Vocal Ensemble at Festival Disney (18MB)
  Eighteen upper school chorus students participated in Festival Disney on March 9, 2007, and received a Superior for their performance, as well as a Gold Mickey for the top Concert Choir Performance of the weekend.

• US Vocal Ensemble ACDA State Choral Festival Spring 2007
  Vocal Ensemble received a Superior rating at state adjudication on April 12 after qualifying with a Superior in both sight-singing and performance at the regional adjudication.
