The Main Stage Theatre at FRA was finished for the 1999-2000 school year. The 650-seat facility is a state-of-the art theatre that you would find professional theatre companies using all over the country. The main level of the theatre has sloped seating for 600 so there are no bad seats. There is also a 150-seat balcony with the same sloped seating arrangement providing a great view of the stage from every seat in the house. Our backstage area includes a 3 story fly-loft, storage for our tools, equipment, and set pieces we use for all of our shows.
The facility has the best state-of-the art equipment at its disposal. Each year new projects are implemented to improve the equipment so that we stay on the cutting edge in our performance space. We have made significant improvements and advancements in our sound equipment, lighting rig, and video projection and production. Below you will find detailed information and pictures of our equipment.
FRA also opens the Main Stage Theatre for rental. We have been a part of many great community events. Some of the events that the Main Stage has hosted:
- A filming of a Toyota commercial
- The Miss Music City Pageant (pre-pageant to the Miss Tennessee and then to the Miss America Pageant)
- Many dance performances from all around the middle Tennessee area, and
- Community outreaches with Salama Urban Ministries to inner-city youth in the areas of creative and performing arts
