
Franklin Road Academy Track & Field program has a long tradition of winning as well as more recent success, including three TSSAA State championships since 2000. The excellence continues through the hard work ethic of the Panthers, committed to training at a championship level to reach new personal bests. FRA Track offers girls' and boys' Varsity teams, girls' and boys' Middle School teams as well as a girls' and boys' 5th and 6th grade teams. The teams train on an eight lane track which is located on the George Volkert Athletic Comlpex east of the football field.
Winter conditioning for track & field (aerobic conditioning, plyometrics, weights, etc.) for students not participating in a winter sport begins after Thanksgiving, and U/S track & field practice officially begins in early February. The TSSAA State Track & Field Meet is at the end of May. Practice for the 5th & 6th grade and M/S teams begins around the first of March, with the HVAC Championship Meet being contested in early May.
