Graduated License Program Details
The Graduated License Program is a multi-tiered program designed to ease students into full network and internet privileges as they become more mature and develop their decision making skills. The program uses an already included software-based solution that limits access to social networking sites, chats, games, and downloading. The limited access encompasses both in school and at home activities.
The program also has features that allow the student to develop a better understanding of what is acceptable and what is unacceptable. One function of the software allows students to suggest whether a particular site should be unblocked or open. No filter software is flawless. We feel it is important for students to develop a sense of what makes a site appropriate for academic use.
As students mature through grade levels 8 - 12, access to social networking sites at home will be increased. Our goal is to teach students how to use the tablet as an academic tool that enhances their education.
