College Counseling at Franklin Road Academy

Gaining acceptance to a college or university is a very thorough process at Franklin Road Academy. It begins in the ninth grade with a checklist approach which assures the right balance among the roles of students, parents, colleges, and FRA. A college advisor is responsible for the coordination of the program over the years, but virtually every faculty member is involved.

College counseling emphasizes:

  • meeting deadlines
  • presenting comprehensive and accurate information
  • preparing for testing
  • campus interviewing
  • essay writing

Our goal is to assure admittance to and potential for success in college for our graduates. Counselors promote eligibility awareness for scholarships and grants, and informational forums are held each year which address the procedures for obtaining financial aid.

Every effort is made to maximize the opportunities for further study. The process begins early at FRA and is a shared effort between the school and family. Combined with follow-up studies to ascertain success levels once admitted, college placement is viewed as the "bottom line" of FRA's success. The school enjoys 100% placement of our graduates at outstanding colleges and universities.

This College Corner addresses many frequently asked questions. I look forward to working with you and your student to find the college or university that best meets your student's needs.
